Empower is expanding its reach with a new office in Austin, Texas. Austin’s Regional Sales Director, Lori Benold, brings years of experience to the table to better help our new agents succeed.
14 Years of Experience
Benold brings 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, first working with a hospital system that sponsored a Medicare Select product. “I oversaw marketing, sales, physician relations, and product development,” says Benold. Afterward, she went on to manage an independent insurance agency focusing on Medicare-related products with over 40 agents and 4,000 policyholders. With Benold’s diverse background and past work experience, she will be able to collaborate with all sectors, including agents, providers, carriers, and clients. Benold knows the value of insurance and has personally experienced how it can help in times of need. “I enjoy working with agents and helping them find new ways to expand their business. It’s also very rewarding to help clients solve problems.”
Opportunities In The First Few Months
When asked what she believes sets Empower apart from other FMOs, Benold says, “Empower Brokerage provides tools beyond what carriers provide, including a tried-and-true selling system, ongoing no-cost lead support, a virtual University, quoting tools, and a wealth of ideas that truly make a difference.” By connecting with more agents in the Austin area through things like ‘Medicare 101’ seminars or ‘Shop and Compare’ events, Benold hopes to establish a solid foundation with both agents and Medicare clients. In her first few months, she’d like to help agents find ways to maintain their livelihoods, especially since over the past few weeks, COVID-19 cases have exploded. “We can make a difference by helping clients calm their fears with products that provide solutions.”
Establishing A Footprint In Austin
What does Benold look forward to most? Establishing a physical office in the Austin area where agents can have a landing place for meetings, support, training, and collaborations. “Agents will be part of a community which gives them access to valuable tools to grow their business and income.” She went on to state, “Empower is committed to substantial growth and is looking into hiring more support staff to help agents in the Austin area.” When asked about potential challenges, Benold believes social distancing can be seen as a hinderance to modern insurance sales, but plans to respond by teaching agents “strategies help clients over the phone with products that fill important coverage needs.”
