Empower Brokerage’s new Regional Sales Director, Ben Marquez

Empower Brokerage recently welcomed Ben Marquez, our newest Regional Sales Director over Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and parts of east Texas. Marquez brings two decades of insurance sales experience to the Empower team and looks forward to contributing to the company’s growth.

Background and Experience

Marquez has spent over 20 years helping clients find insurance solutions. While completing his undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, Marquez found work as an independent insurance sales consultant. Just over a year later, he joined PacifiCare Health Systems as a healthcare sales agent. In 2006, Marquez became a Regional Sales Manager with Humana, where he remained until joining Empower Brokerage in August 2020.

Marquez believes that “the multiple product lines we offer agents, the subject matter lines we offer agents, and the 360-degree support we offer for all activities,” set Empower apart from other FMOs. He is excited to work for a family-owned and operated organization, where he can use his knowledge of various programs to educate a new group of brokers.

A Relational Approach

Sales is simply customer service with commission, said Marquez, who is dedicated to relational, compassionate consumer care. When speaking with clients, Marquez treats them “like my mother, brother, father, sister, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew.”

Marquez also uses this familial approach to train new agents. “We show them the versatility in life you can have and still provide quality care for your customers,” he explained. By maintaining a client-oriented mindset, Marquez has developed a great track record of providing outstanding customer relations.

Looking Forward

Marquez is most excited to begin a “new venture in my life and my career.” It is obvious to those speaking with Marquez that he is passionate about providing support for his clients.

When discussing his goals with Empower Brokerage, Marquez stated, “I hope to add to the growth of our business on a local and national level, and to use my expertise to assist with that growth,” He is eager to use his advanced knowledge of programs like Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (DSNPs) to continue improving Empower’s customer experience.

Marquez looks forward to entering the “next level of knowledge and engagement” in his career with Empower Brokerage, and we are excited to see the great things he accomplishes in his new position!
