Background
Emerson became a licensed agent in 1998, officially starting her journey by selling insurance on auto loans through the Credit Union of Texas. “I was responsible for daily operations of the branch, which included managing our loan production and insurance sales.” Three years ago she received her Life & Health license. Emerson feels fulfilled in her choice of career path, stating that she enjoys knowing that the decisions she makes provide crucial protection for families when they need it the most. “It’s especially rewarding to be able to support other agents who are working hard to further their career and ensure financial success for their future.”

In 2018, Emerson joined Empower Brokerage. In Emerson’s first few years with the company, she has recruited a team of field agents who are helping clients all around the DFW area. Through her help and guidance, she has been able to develop these agents into top sellers in the area. “My background has provided me unique insight into the issues facing both consumers and agents, and through my experience, I’m able to offer valuable guidance and solutions.” Emerson plans to continue extending her reach through exclusive lead programs and hands-on field training. “We host weekly training meetings on a range of topics to help new and seasoned agents expand their area of expertise. We’ll help facilitate community outreach through consumer seminars, health fairs, and community sponsorships to help grow new business.”
The Perfect Storm
Emerson is awaiting the perfect storm that is currently brewing in the North Texas area. Because the population has increased by more than one million people in the past eight years, “there are 10,000 people aging into Medicare each day in our country, and approximately 400,000 agents will retire in the next few years.” She claims, “as we gear up for a shortage of agents, Empower Brokerage is prepared to handle the influx of new agents who are seeking training and support to get their career on track.”
Future
When asked about what she’d like her area to be recognized for, Emerson stated: “I’d like for the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be recognized for our strength and ability to overcome whatever challenges we face. [We work] in order to keep our community safe and prosperous!”
